Artist Statement

My journey as an oil painter began with a fascination for everything the medium offers—the texture of the paint, the movement of the brushes, the science and emotion behind color theory, and the ability to bring a canvas to life in a way that other mediums could not. Oil painting became my way of expressing myself and creating something that connects with others.
I am inspired by the beauty and power of nature, which has always been an important part of my life. Growing up in Montana gave me a deep appreciation for landscapes and the feeling of being surrounded by the natural world. Through my paintings, I explore both real and imagined places, creating environments that invite viewers to step away from everyday life and enter a world of wonder and possibility.
My goal is not only to capture what a place looks like, but to capture the feeling of being there—the atmosphere, the emotion, and the sense of discovery. Whether a landscape exists in reality or only in my imagination, I want people to feel drawn into the scene and imagine themselves within it.
Painting is my way of leaving a positive footprint in the world. Through my artwork, I hope to bring joy, inspiration, and a moment of connection to those who experience it.
